The Nordic/Baltic region is generally characterized by a high level on innovative technologies and a on a global scale very fast and stable broadband connectivity. The e-infrastructure is thus existing and accessible. In spite of this fact it is still far from common that Higher Music and Arts education institutions in the region make full use of the potential.
There has been some promising experimentation with Distance Learning and E-portfolio method and individual teachers work very innovatively with alternative ways of teaching, but the effect is still not widespread and put into the core of the curricula.

We believe that a good tool for realizing a vision of a world-class Nordic/Baltic level of utilization of new technology in the higher music educational field would be to establish a forum for sharing knowledge. We need to get the sharpest brains together and to learn from each other.
